DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

Yes! For some PPO insurance plans, we are able to accept coverage for our lactation consultation services. We partner with Lactation Network, a company that's able to bill several insurance providers directly for your consultation with us. Coverage will vary depending on your provider and plan details.

For more details on whether your plan qualifies, please visit our insurance page.

WHEN SHOULD I TAKE A CHILDBIRTH, BREASTFEEDING, OR BABY CARE CLASS?

We recommend that you take all classes by the sixth month of pregnancy, or by the end of your second trimester.

DO YOU OFFER PRIVATE CLASSES?

Yes! Private childbirth, breastfeeding, or baby care classes may be arranged on an individualized schedule. Pricing varies on course content and length of class. Please contact us here to discuss the best option for you.

WHAT DO THE ACRONYMS AFTER YOUR NAMES MEAN?

Great question! Here’s what our designations mean:

  • IBCLC – International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant certification

  • ICEA – International Childbirth Education Association certification

  • Doula – Doulas are trained to care for the emotional, physical, and social needs of women in labor. Postpartum doulas are trained to care for new moms and babies in the early weeks just after the birth

ARE YOUR CERTIFICATIONS CURRENT?

At Pasadena Breastfeeding Center we are committed to lifelong learning. All our certifications are current and complemented by ongoing coursework covering best practices and emerging science on childbirth and breastfeeding.

IS IT SAFE TO DO IN-PERSON LACTATION CONSULTATIONS?

Yes. In addition to having received our COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters, we use medical-grade PPE and employ appropriate social distancing wherever possible to ensure the safety of you, your baby, and ourselves during in-home visits. If you or a member of your household are ill or if you prefer to connect online, we are happy to offer virtual private consultations.

DO YOU ONLY SERVE THE PASADENA, CALIFORNIA AREA?

We are thrilled to offer service across LA County and Orange County. If you are beyond a 30 mile radius from our two central areas of Pasadena and Corona, we may add a $50 travel fee to your consultation.

The quickest way for a parent to get a child's attention is to sit down and look comfortable.
